107.9 WRFA (W Radio For the Arts) is a 100-watt, non-profit, LPFM station licensed to Jamestown, New York. They went on the air in September 2004.
The current general manager of WRFA is Dennis Drew who also plays keyboards in 10,000 Maniacs. I've been a fan of the band since hearing the weird and wonderful song "Planned Obsolescence" on the also weird and wonderful WUWU around 1982. According to the liner notes of the band's 1990 release Hope Chest, Dennis Drew also helped establish Jamestown Community College's now-defunct 91.5 FM WJWK sometime in the late 1970s.
