AM 720 WGN has been on the air in Chicago, Illinois since 1924. The call letters stood for World's Greatest Newspaper as they were once co-owned by the Chicago Tribune (which has since been merged into the Nexstar Media Group.) WGN was the flagship station of the Chicago Bears from 1953 to 1976 and again from 1985 through 1996. They are the current flagship for Northwestern University football and men's basketball games. The 50,000-watt clear-channel station has aired a News/Talk format since the early 1990s. To see some Chicago Cubs-themed WGN stickers, click here.
