"93BLX" is a Mainstream Urban station licensed to Mobile, Alabama. WBLX has had the same format and call letters for 38 years.

KSTN

1420 AM KSTN went on the air in (K) STocktoN, California in 1949. Formats over the years included Big Band, Top-40, Oldies and Classic Hits. After playing Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust" followed by the WKRP in Cincinnati theme, KSTN went silent on February 19, 2010.

KDHI was located at 1250 AM and licensed to Twentynine Palms, California. Not sure what their format was and there doesn't appear to be a station licensed to that city at that spot on the dial anymore. Any further info on KDHI would be greatly appreciated.

Radio Stephansdom is a Classical music station from Vienna, Austria. The city skyline can be seen on the sticker including the dome of St. Peter's Church and the spire of St. Stephen's Cathedral from which the station gets its name.

KGCR is a Religious station licensed to Goodland, Kansas.

WTIM

WRKL

WRKL was a News/Talk/MOR station licensed to New City, New York in (W) RocKLand County.



In 1999 they switched to all-Polish programming "Polskie Radio."

WLLI

WLLI began as WJOL-FM, simulcasting the Beautiful Music of sister-station WJOL-AM in Joliet, Illinois. The call letter switch to WLLI (an anagram for WILL County, Illinois) came in the late 1970s. Music changes over the years included Country, Rock and probably some kind of Contemporary Hit format given the "Listen To Win" sticker above. At one time WLLI was owned by a millionaire who made his fortune from the card game UNO. 96.7 FM is currently a Hot Adult Contemporary outlet "Star 96.7" WSSR.

Market #1s - Houston - KODA

KODA "Sunny 99.1" is an Adult Contemporary station licensed to Houston, Texas. They were the #1-rated radio station in that market according to the latest Arbitron results.

AM 1570 WFUR (W FURniture City Radio) has been a Religious station in Grand Rapids, Michigan since 1950. Here's a similar sticker from what was probably a co-owned station.

WABK

"Oldies 104" is WABK from Gardiner, Maine. They have shifted away from traditional oldies and are now a Classic Hits station.

KRVE

KRVE was a Portuguese-language radio station licensed to Los Gatos, California. 95.3 FM currently plays Country music as KRTY.

IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!...again

Last August I wrote about a fool who spent a bunch of money on bus ads proclaiming the end of the world as May 21, 2011. Well folks, this is it! Nice knowin' ya.

Licensed to Ukiah, California, KPRA is one of about 160 stations and translators in the Family Radio Christian Network based in Oakland. Family Radio was founded in 1959 by Harold Camping who also predicted that the world would end back in 1994.

UPDATE: After being "mystified" and "bewildered" that his prediction didn't come true, Camping now says that today's Judgment Day was spiritual not physical. The actual end of the world will now be October 21st.

WYSP

 

WYSP (W Your Station in Philadelphia) is a Classic Rock station from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. "94 WYSP" became the very first Classic Rock station in the country when they flipped to the format from AOR in 1981.

KBSN

AM 1470 KBSN is a News/Talk station licensed to Moses Lake, Washington. "Working together for a beautiful body?" That's almost as weird/creepy as this sticker slogan.

Controradio was founded in 1975 and broadcasts from Florence, Italy.
