Mystery Oldies Keychains

St. Louis, Missouri's KLOU seems to be the only current "Oldies 103.3" in existence.  WODS in Boston, Massachusetts flipped from "Oldies 103.3" to Top-40 "Amp Radio" last year.  Does anyone know if either of those outlets used this logo or if it's from some other defunct station?

KLTH in Portland, Oregon and WPWQ in Mount Sterling, Illinois are currently both known as "Oldies 106.7"  If anyone can positively identify this keychain, I will give you one bazillion dollars.

WSVO

WSVO (W Shenandoah Valley Oldies) existed from the mid-1990s until 2005.  The Staunton, Virginia licensed station is currently Adult Contemporary "Mix 93.1"

WSWI

WSWI "AM 820 The Edge" is the college radio station at the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville.  They play Alternative music during the day, Electronica at night and Hip-Hop on the weekends.

WSWO

WSWO (W SouthWestern Ohio) is a non-commercial, all-volunteer, Oldies station licensed to Huber Heights, Ohio just north of Dayton.  "Ultimate Oldies Radio" is a low-power station which now broadcasts at 97.3 FM.  I listened in the car this afternoon and they're still listenable but with slightly more static than when they broadcast at 101.1 FM.  WSWO plays songs from the 50s, 60s and 70s including many that are not typically heard on commercial oldies stations.  Bill Glover is a DJ heard on Tuesdays from 3-7.

Radio Sticker of the Day Mailbag - Katsushika FM

Yesterday my post office box revealed a nice package of Japanese radio stickers from a reader of this blog.  They are all very unique and many have whimsical station mascots that the Japanese seem to have a fondness for.  It is also interesting to see some frequencies that are not used in North America.  Japan's FM broadcast band is 76 to 90 MHz.  Thanks Kenji!

This sticker is from Katsushika FM, a community radio station in the Katsushika City ward of Tokyo.

WTAC

WTAC is a Contemporary Christian station licensed to Burton, Michigan.  They are one of 21 different "Smile FMs" throughout the state.

WTAG

AM 580 WTAG is a News/Talk station licensed to Worcester, Massachusetts.  They are also heard on 94.9 via an FM translator licensed to Tatnuck, MA.  The call letters stand for Worcester Telegram And Gazette, a local newspaper that was co-owned with the station in the 1920s.

Mystery Keychain - Double Q

This keychain is either from WHQQ or WNQQ but the writing is so tiny that it is barely (or should I say "bearly") visible.  I can see that it says "Double Q 92.1" but Googling hasn't solved this mystery completely.  There is no station currently using the WNQQ call letters.  WHQQ is "The Game,"a Sports station at 98.9 FM licensed to Neoga, Illinois.  They are owned by the Cromwell Radio Group which owns 14 stations in Illinois.  One of these stations is WWGO "92.1 The Axe," a Classic Rock station licensed to Charleston, IL.  Wikipedia's entry for WWGO says that they are owned by "WHQQ, Inc."  My guess is that WWGO used to be WHQQ.  Anyone know if this is the case or what their format was?

WTAO

WTAO is an Active Rock station licensed to Herrin, Illinois.  In July, 2009 they moved down the dial to 92.7 FM while sister station WVZA took over the 105.1 frequency.

WTBQ

1110 AM WTBQ is an independently-owned, daytime-only,  Full Service radio station licensed to Warwick, New York.  They are also heard on translator W228CG at 93.5 FM.  According to this article, the call letters either stand for W Top Quality Broadcast or W Teddy Bear Q. 

WTBT

"Thunder 103.5" was a Classic Rock station licensed to Bradenton, Florida near Tampa.  The frequency is currently home to Country-formatted WFUS "US 103.5" now licensed to Gulfport, FL.

WTBX

93.9 WTBX is a Hot Adult Contemporary station in Hibbing, Minnesota.

WTCM-AM

WTCM 580 AM went on the air in (W) Traverse City, Michigan on January 8, 1941.  They have carried a News/Talk format since 1991.

WTCM-FM

103.5 WTCM is a Country station in (W) Traverse City, Michigan.  They are simulcast on 93.5 FM WBCM licensed to (W) Boyne City, Michigan.

WTCR

103.3 WTCR plays Country music in Huntington, West Virginia.

WTGE

WTGE was a Rhythmic Oldies station licensed to Baker, Louisiana.  The frequency is currently home to "Talk 107.3" WBRP.

KDKD

95.3 KDKD is a Country music station licensed to Clinton, Missouri. 

KDKR

KDKR is a Religious Teaching and Contemporary Christian music station licensed to Decatur, Texas.  They have been on the air since June, 2000.

KDLG

KDLG is a non-commercial, public radio station in (K)DiLlinGham, Alaska.  They are heard on 670 AM, 930 AM and 89.9 FM.  KDLG's license is owned by the Dillingham City School District and teaches broadcasting classes to its high school students.

Radio Sticker of the Day Mailbag - Fifeshire FM

I recently received a bounty of stickers from a visitor to this blog from Whakatane, New Zealand.  A great selection of Kiwi, Australian and American decals plus two cans of 100% pure Whakatane sunshine ("Guaranteed to Revitalise.")  Thanks Aaron!!

Fifeshire began temporary broadcasts in 1983 on the AM dial before gaining their FM license in 1987.  In January, 1988 the Nelson, New Zealand based station went on the air becoming the country's eighth private FM station.  Fifeshire FM became "More FM" in 2004.
