WVKO

WVKO is a Gospel music station in Columbus, Ohio known as "1580 AM The Praise."  This vintage V.I.P. Listener Card probably dates to when WVKO carried a Soul/R&B format in the 1970s and 80s.




Ted Williams, the homeless man whose amazing set of pipes led to this viral video and voice-over work with Kraft Foods and MSNBC, was once an overnight DJ at WVKO.

Around 2011, WVKO (The (W) Voice of K(C)olumbus Ohio) carried a Catholic/Religious format.

WBVI

A magnet from "Mix 96.7" WBVI licensed to Fostoria. Ohio.  They carry a Hot Adult Contemporary format and first went on the air in 1946 as WFOB.

KBZZ

A 2002 sticker from "1270 AM The Buzz," a Sports station in Reno, Nevada.  KBZZ seems to have dropped "The Buzz" branding and is now just "CBS Sports Radio."  1270 AM is licensed to Sparks, NV.

KCFX

KCFX broadcasts a Classic Rock format in Kansas City, Missouri.  Their Wikipedia page claims that they were the first Classic Rock station in a major market in the country when they flipped from AOR in 1985.  "The Fox" has been the flagship station of the Kansas City Chiefs since 1990.  KCFX is licensed to Harrisonville, MO.

WRMF

97.9 FM WRMF is a Hot Adult Contemporary station licensed to Palm Beach, Florida.  The call letters stand for (W) Richard M Fairbanks, who at one time owned 20 radio stations, established the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network and was an owner of the Indiana Pacers in the 1980s.

WMRE

Radio at Atlanta, Georgia's Emory University began in 1983 with station WEMO.  In 1989 WMRE was launched as a carrier current station heard on 590 AM.  Today they are heard on the internet and Emory cable channel 26 as well as 1660 AM (well, maybe....as of a couple years ago they did broadcast terrestrially with very low power but there doesn't seem to be any mention of 1660 AM on their website.)  WMRE also publishes Frequency, a once-per-semester, student-produced music and culture magazine.

WJMO

"Jam'n 99.5 FM" WJMO was an Urban Oldies station in Washington, DC from 1999 until 2001.  At the time, they were co-owned by the same company that owned WJMO-AM in Cleveland, Ohio.  99.5 FM is currently Top-40 WIHT "Hot 99.5"

WDAV

89.9 FM WDAV plays Classical music in Charlotte, North Carolina.  The 100,000-watt station is a public service of Davidson College and is licensed to Davidson, NC.

KXOK

St. Louis, Missouri's KXOK was an Urban Adult Contemporary station beginning in 1992 and later played Classic Rock circa 1999/2000.  97.1 FM is currently KFTK and carries a Talk format.

WRHU

88.7 FM WRHU broadcasts from Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York.  The student-run outlet was named the best college radio station in the country as ranked by the The Princeton Review.  WRHU is the flagship station of the New York Islanders, the first and only college station to have an exclusive broadcasting agreement with a professional sports team.

WHO

A t-shirt featuring the long-time owl mascot of News/Talk 1040 AM WHO in Des Moines, Iowa.  They are a 50,000-watt clear channel station and went on the air in 1924.  A look at recent Nielsen Audio ratings for Des Moines shows they were ranked #1 in the market.

President Ronald Reagan worked at WHO from 1932 to 1937.

WUSC

90.5 WUSC is the student-run radio station of the (W) University of South Carolina in Columbia.

Radio Quattro

Radio Quattro broadcast in Florence, Italy.  Not sure if they still exist or are related to this station.

KTBQ

"Q107" KTBQ plays Classic Rock in Nacogdoches, Texas.

CIAM-AM

A 1987 sticker from CIAM, a Top-40 station in Cambridge, Ontario.  Ten years later, approval was given to move to 92.9 FM and broadcasting on 960 AM officially ended in August, 1998. 

CIAM-FM

CIAM is a Religious station licensed to Fort Vermilion, Alberta.  They signed on the air in 2003 and are heard on more than a dozen rebroadcasters in three provinces.

BBC Radio Foyle

BBC Radio Foyle broadcasts from County Londonderry, Northern Ireland.  They've been on the air since 1979 and are named after the River Foyle which forms the border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

KMKF

KMKF is a Rock station in Manhattan, Kansas.

WSHZ / Mystery Z108

A 1998 sticker from Hot Adult Contemporary "Z108" WSHZ in Muskegon, Michigan.  107.9 FM is currently WMUS and has a Country format.

I don't know if this t-shirt is from WSHZ or not...do you?

KFZX

A 2002 sticker from KFZX licensed to Gardendale, Texas.  At that time FZX played a mix of classic, alternative and current songs under their "Absolute Rock" branding.  They currently carry a Classic Rock format.
