Detroit, Michigan's 99.5 WDTX existed from 1985 until 1988. They started out as a Rock-based Top 40 station meant to be a radio version of MTV and later transitioned to a mainstream CHR outlet. By late 1988 they had switched call letters to
WDFX and became "The Fox."
