CKRA went on the air in Edmonton, Alberta in 1979 with an Album-Oriented Rock format.
Sometime in the 1980s they switched to Adult Contemporary as "96 K-Lite" and/or "K-Lite 96."
In 1995 they became "Mix 96" with a Hot Adult Contemporary format.
In 2003 CKRA trotted out a CHR format known as "96X."
The Country-formatted "Big Earl" came along in 2005 and lasted until 2008.
As of this second, CKRA is an Oldies/Classic Hits station known as "96.3 Capital FM" whose logo can be seen on their
website.
