WEEU

WEEU is a News/Talk station licensed to Reading, Pennsylvania. In 1999 they switched from 850 AM to 830 AM (which is the same frequency they originally broadcast from when they went on the air on Christmas Eve, 1931.)

"Live 105" KITS has been a Modern Rock station in San Francisco, California since 1986.



Modern Rock "Live 105" CKHY went on the air in Halifax, Nova Scotia about two months ago.

Attack of the Killer B98s

KZBB is a Modern Adult Contemporary station licensed to Poteau, Oklahoma.

KRBB is an Adult Contemporary station from Wichita, Kansas.

WBBO was a CHR station licensed to Ocean Acres, New Jersey. "B98.5" still exists with the same format although the call letters have been changed to WHTG.

WLOL

I recently saw a personalized license plate that said "WLOL" and immediately thought of the now-defunct CHR station from Minneapolis, Minnesota. I took a picture of the plate but I hesitate to post it cuz it's probably illegal without the permission of the owner.

WLOL (W Land Of Lakes) was a massively popular Top-40 station in the Twin Cities from 1981 until 1991. A bunch of classic WLOL airchecks and videos can be found here. 99.5 FM is now KSJN, the flagship station of Minnesota Public Radio's classical music network.

KXKL

"Kool 105" KXKL is a Classic Hits station from Denver, Colorado. A babyfied KXKL magnet can be seen here.

KPUL

"Pulse 99.5" KPUL is a Christian CHR station licensed to Winterset, Iowa.

KIIX

KIIX was a Country station licensed to Wellington, Colorado. 600 AM is now News/Talk KCOL.

KAAA & KZZZ

KAAA and KZZZ are Talk stations in northwestern Arizona. KAAA is licensed to Kingman, AZ and KZZZ is licensed to Bullhead City, AZ.

91.4 Coast FM

91.4 Coast FM is a Contemporary Hit station from the city of Limassol on the southern coast of Cyprus. Listening live while making this post I heard:

WXGI

WXGI was a Classic Country station from Richmond, Virginia. The station was founded in the late 1940s by former World War II servicemen, hence the call letters "ex-GI." 950 AM switched to Sports in 2004 and is now an ESPN Radio affiliate.

WFXM

WFXM "Foxie 107" was an Urban Contemporary station licensed to Gordon, Georgia. They now use the branding "Power 107."

WOND

1400 AM WOND is a News/Talk station licensed to Pleasantville, New Jersey near Atlantic City.

WKFM

"K96" WKFM is a Country station licensed to Huron, Ohio.

WDAE

Tampa's WDAE (Wonderful Days And Evenings) is credited as the first radio station to be licensed in the state of Florida having gone on the air at 833 AM in May, 1922. They carried a Top-40 format when the top sticker came out in the 1970s or early 1980s. Lieutenant Al Ford was a popular traffic reporter for WDAE (and later WSUN.) He passed away in 2008.

1250 AM is now News/Talk "Impact Radio" WHNZ. The WDAE call letters live on at 620 AM in Tampa at "The Sports Animal."

KUBB

KUBB is a Country station licensed to Mariposa, California.

KOMA

KOMA-AM was a Country station in OklahOMA City, Oklahoma from 1980 to 1985 when they switched to Beautiful Music. 1520 AM is now News/Talk KOKC.

KOMA-FM carries a Classic Hits format.

KGOR

KGOR is a 110,000-watt Classic Hits station from Omaha, Nebraska. They were a more traditional Oldies station when I got the above sticker in 2000. KGOR now uses the branding "Superhits 99.9"

CHUM-FM

An adhesive cloth patch from CHUM FM in Toronto commemorating three Canadian dates on Styx's Paradise Theatre Tour. CHUM FM switched from Classical to Progressive Rock in 1968 and still played Rock when this sticker came out in 1981. CHUM-FM is currently a Hot Adult Contemporary station.
