KYW
After the 1920 launch of KDKA in Pittsburgh proved successful, Westinghouse Electric decided to start up other radio stations in major urban areas. KYW's origins begin in Chicago in 1921 but they moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1934. They broadcast on at least five different frequencies before settling in to their current location at 1060 AM in 1941. In 1956 the KYW call letters were moved to what is now WTAM in Cleveland, Ohio but they returned to Philly in 1965--the same year they moved to an All-News format which remains today.
