107.1 FM WRFN (W Radio Free Nashville) is a locally-owned community station licensed to Pasquo, Tennessee. At only 7 watts their low-power FM signal doesn't reach all of the Nashville metro area. A translator at 103.7 FM was added in 2014 greatly expanding their reach into the city. WRFN went on the air in 2005 through the support of the Prometheus Radio Project. PRP is an advocacy and community organizing group whose mission is to resist media consolidation and radio homogenization in the US. They have held about a dozen radio "barnraisings" so far where supporters and community radio advocates come together to build a studio, raise an antenna and put a station on the air--all over the course of just three days.
